Default MW_055_alpha1 just a release from test server....

Hello ALL!!

Thought I would at least make a release that works with current 055 code.

NOTE: this is a direct dump from our test server, still has a few little querks, we are working to get everything corrected and functioning.

Hope this helps a few people in thier quests to get an EQ server up and running.

Grab the file here: http://tcstoys.sytes.net/MW055_alpha_02.zip

You need to 5.5-DR1 binaries. The source is released for compilation, but if you can't compile just wait until they get released officially.

Dont know if its relevant or not, but is it possible that this DB mess with the AAs system?

I mean I had the old DB (I think from 052-053 version) with the current 055 release and although it had some minor problems (double spawns etc), the AAs worked. After I upgraded to this one (delete the old one and sourced the new) I can get AAs via the relevant # command (it says that I have x AA points) but the AA points arent displayed in the AA window (as before) and thus I cant spent them.

Sounds like a code issue, not database.

Are you sure you haven't updated the binaries?

No, I dont think its a code issue. As I was saying I had upgraded to 5.5DR1 (download from CVS on 29/2) when I still had the "old" database (from 5.2-5.3). And although that database was a bit messy I could get AAs, display them in the AA window and spend them without problems.

It all stopped the moment I delete that DB and sourced this one. I think I'll source again the old DB (with the required updates to work with 5.5 of course) and see what happens.

Ah sorry, misread your post.

Source in the new database, but for the AA tables source in the old version you have (from 5.3). Make sure you apply any SQL updates, if there are any that affect the AA tables.

Thx Mon, I'll do that when I get home from work, maybe that will help.

Anyway, if there are people out there that work with 5.5DR1 and this DB without problems there must be sthng with my setup. I'll try d/l again, recompile stand on one feet... maybe sthng will work for me

Ignore this post...didn't know I had to register to DL. It didn't tell me that.

The link on that site won't let me DL the database...

It says:

You can not download this file directly from another site!

Well, since I can't post on that board... I'll put my thought here

I've played 2 characters up to 9 on MW and it's a lot of fun... great server.

However, if I had a complaint, it's that it seems like most of the effort (please correct me if I'm wrong) is going to the high end zones. While those zones are the most fun, on a legit server, the low level zones need to have stuff. In those 18 total levels, I don't think I've made more than 20 pp.... most mobs drop nothing.

The GMs are very helpful and do provide some basic items to help you along, if needed.... but, I'd like to see characters have more of a chance to get these on their own.

Again, I'd just like to stress that I love this server and would love to see more people on it.

Keep up the great work
