Default Apparently I patched when I shouldn't have?

I'm new to this idea, but I'd really like to try this out. I've gone through all the posts I could find regarding my problem, but I can't find a fix. I'm coming up with the following error when checking my version:
-----
Reporting..
Generating Version Strings...
SHORT VERSION: SEQ0A167
LONG VERSION: EQ7C499C90EA9BDF0ADAABB6C11E2727A6B8291587
Connecting to mirror1.awhiteflame.net..
Fetching Version Information...
Version information downloaded.
Problem! EQVerCheck was unable to find a recognized version of EverQuest to match with a loginserver. This could be for a few reasons:
-- You have patched to live which has an incompatible version with EQEMu.
-- You have an unpatched or too old version of EverQuest that this program recognizes.
-- An error has occured reading the verison information file.
-- This program is too outdated to match this version of EverQuest with a loginserver.
Please report this on the EQEmulator forums with your SEQ number ( SEQ0A167) and date you patched to live. ONLY report versions you KNOW to work with a version of EQEMulator.
-----

I have my EQHost set to:
--
[LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5994
--

When I try and log in, I get stuck at the "Logging in to the server, please wait..." screen.

Is the Emulator server down? Have I done something wrong? I know how frustrating these simple questions can be, but any help would be appreciated. I have a craving to go check out Cabalis/CoM again.

Also if you have the latest patch, at the top of the site it says that the latest patch breaks the emulator. I have the same problem, so you may have to wait until they update the emulator to the current patch.

And Im sure someone will ask...When will that be?
(It dont do much good to ask that. Take it from me. I consider myself a
beginner to below average programmer and I learned right away that progamming is hard work and sometimes a bug fix can actually break
the stuff you worked so hard on the last few days. And Im making simple
stuff modified from other progammers work! Imagine what happens with
real progams! In short..Aspirin is the best friend a programmer has..)

Now..If my nose is working..The sense Im having is that it will be a few weeks maybe..Maybe even sooner..Theres no telling..Just a guess..

Understood. Thanks for the help already though. NOW I can get to the server select screen, but when I click on a server (theres like.. 6 or so?) they all tell me that I need to run the patcher again cause I lost connectivity with the patch server. It's error 1017 I believe. Still a fixable problem?

Its probably fixable but you will have to search the internet for an answer as
that kind of stuff is not supported here..Maybe you can try the Websites of the servers you see there for an answer..

Im having the same issue. I changed EQhost # to 5998, and can now reach server select, but I get the same error. I'm sure it has something to do with the recent SoE patch. I look forward to getting onto EQemu when it's possible.

1017 is more than likely a client mismatch. I.E. your client is not the same version as the server.
