New Server [Quest Server] [Recruiting]

I am new to eqemu however I finally have everything functional and I am fully prepared to change my personal EQ time to my own EQ world instead of the real thing. I do not have a dedicated server at this time but will be getting one in the next week or so to remove lag and be able to handle many users.

The Server:

Using the most up to date EQemu I plan on keeping the server up to date. I consider the POP+ zones a natural part of the games development and a much more sensible way of getting around now-days. However I have plans on making the server fun and fresh for characters from 1 all the way to 70. A complete revamp of all of the npc's and quests... More quests than ever heard of and npc's will really drop items that aren't total crap for you. In normal EQ you would go kill orcs and get crap then move on to the next area of mobs and get crap and be wearing crap for way too long. I plan on having many of these mobs drop gear that they might be wearing. IE. an orc may be wearing a piece of some sort of orc armor and it will be the kind of armor you should have at that level.

Quested gear will ALWAYS be better than dropped gear unless the drop is from a "boss." Each class will have decent newbie gear to quest for.

Looking for people....
Willing to work on quests for all zones for all classes.
Willing to work on monster and zone concepts.
Willing to work on Event ideas.*
Willing to perform guide functions when the need arises.
Willing to create the server web site.
Willing to beta test, contact me EVEN IF YOU DON'T have a working everquest currently.

*Already have plans on the first major event which will take place closer to Halloween.....

This server should be accessible through EQEmu's login server. It is simply called "Quest Server" for the time being. I have not done anything yet except create a few items but will be working on this further today. Check here for updates to the game.

Please feel free to post server name ideas. I am undecided.

Good evening!

I am working on a web site which will list all updates and other info but in the mean time my recent updates:

Server is still up called "Quest Server" possible future server names include "Fall of Norrath" and a few others. (submit your idea!)

Crushbone orcs now drop modified / improved / new items. Around 10 or more new drops added.

Lightning flashes through the sky and strikes the Tower Of Kurn. The sound of Burynai chanting is heard from deep within the bowels of the Tower. It's too late. Too late.....

Something lurks deep within... need oppinions on drops and hardness *other zone changes to follow, have not had time.

The issue of crap drops in live is exactly what turned me off. I would have a lvl 30's character with cloth and see uber's 70's running around with stuff that was >godly. Lower level stuff is real crap in live, and they should redo it so it's more fun.

That was one reason I made a D2- Diablo like loot drop program to make it more enjoyable.

Love your editors they work very well!!!!

One thing I noticed is if you work on an npc and try to make a loot table but neglect to add a value other than zero for bodytype (possibly gender as well but I don't remember) it will keep crashing and can cause people to think the editor can't really edit loot tables.

Maybe make it pick a value other than zero or add an on error resume next or something to stop that error, I bet a lot of people have the same issue when they are learning... Once I figured that part out I was like OHHHHH!!!!

You can and could recruit from these forums but in past xp its not a good move, Its best that you can get someone you know and trust and not corrupt your server in anyway or form.
