Question Newbie questions

I installed Titanium, did NOT patch. I modified EQhost per player instructions. I created a login account. I read everthing I could find on logging in for the first time.

This did not include most of the Wiki article, I got a few pages there, but mostly "Query failed: DELETE FROM wikka_referrers WHERE time < date_sub(now(), interval '30' day) (Can't open file: 'wikka_referrers.MYI'. (errno: 145))".

When I try to login, I get to the login server, enter my user name and password, and wait. After a bit the server screen comes up so I'm making the assumption (a dangerous practice I realize) that I was accepted by login.

There are NO servers listed. The only way out of this screen is to logoff windows. I'm not asking for a walkthru (tho that would be nice) just a pointer to some info that I can read that will get me to the game.

I'm sorry if this violates any "idiot post" rule, I did read any posts that looked like they might apply. I confess that I didn't go through all 65 pages.

Thanks in advance for any help that may be forthcoming.

Might want to include what server version you're running, your setup (Minilogin or Public), and your files for eqemu_config.xml and the like.

The way I see it, you're telling us that you made a server, can somewhat login and hang, and have to logoff windows to exit out of EQ. Without any other information, we really can't help you with anything.

Help us help you.

Default Additional info

I'm not running a server. I'm attempting to connect to a .70 server with a clean Titanium install. Im trying the public login. I'm totall thrown by the reference to the eqemu_config.xml file. Obviously something I missed. Maybe the answer to my problem. Please send a pointer and I'll try it

Default Host file

Per the instructions, it's

[LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5998

mattmeck, is this the proper server?

Default Newbie questions

Is this a common problem? (no servers when logging in) Have I missed some essential step in connecting?

D'oh! Never mind then, heh. I misinterpreted the "I created a login account" bit. :p

Are you behind a router or firewall?

Talking Woot!!!!

Yes, I have a router, and it connects to my DSL modem. Yes to Firewall. Now for the good part

I guess because I've use dwindows for so long, I've come to expext different results from the same action. After I copied the contents of EQ host (see above post). I decided, What the hell, I'll try again. WOOT! I actually played for about 15 min before it locked on me. Big Grin! Thanks guys, I'm a 7 year vetran of EQ. Been without for bout 6 months now. Thanks for the fix. If any of you get any ideas about what prevented me from logging in or why it changed, please share them. Meantime I'm gonna see if the server has timed me out so I can get back in.

Thanks again.
