AA Tables Information

I was looking into working on flushing out a complete list of AAs in my database. However, I cannot seem to find any detailed documentation on the columns of the 5 AA tables, and where the data in them comes from. Some of them are fairly self-explanatory and easy to understand, but some of them are not.

For example, I can't seem to find a reference to where the data for the `ability` column from aa_levels comes from.

Is there any place this kind of stuff is documented?
