Default Hrm server rules freeze...

I know why it's set to freeze new accounts' characters until they type #acceptrules... but should there be (is there?) a way to set the server up to not freeze people? I can't imagine how many new EQEMU'ers have joined a server, made a toon, connected, and said WTF? then decided 'hell with this' and left...

in all actuality, it would make more sense to just put a website url in the motd and tell people those are the server rules, abide by them. because when it's all said and done, whoever runs the server, has every legal right to limit access to it. so anyone found not following the rules can still be banned, but by not freezing people on login for the first time on an account, i think we could probably bring more players into the eqemu servers.

I fixed my freeze issue by deleting the rules record from my variables table.

While it may be confusing for some, some like the idea. The server spams you a couple times when you first login that you have to #acceptrules before you can play here. If any change is needed, maybe offering a "freeze/no-freeze" option configurable by the server admin would be more appropriate.
