Error 1018 : You currently have an active character.

I've had this issue occur 4 times in the past 2 weeks. The server seems to be hanging onto my connection after i've camped out, hanging onto it for hours even days at a time even though i have no characters logged in.

This issue only occurs on one of my two accounts, the other one i have not experienced this problem with. All of my friends playing on my server haven't experienced this issue either.

I've tried contacting the p1999 staff, they have been unhelpful in getting this permanently resolved as they claim it is a problem with EQemu, not with p1999.

I've tried suggestions from other people who have experienced the same problem ie restarting my router, restarting my computer, or logging into another account and another character in an attempt to force the server to release my old connection. None of this works.

This is incredibly frustrating, any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem. Only one of my LS accounts is affected. It's affected at random with no discernible pattern. I camp out normally and it may or may not happen the next time I try to login. I'm at the point where I'll probably just stop playing because I have no idea if I can play at any given time.

EQEmu says it's Project 1999's fault.
Project 1999 says it's EQEmu's fault.

Since I am neither a developer nor an administrator of either side, I have no way of influencing these two parties to communicate. As such, I feel this issue will never be resolved due to some strange unwillingness to communicate across teams.
