Some questions on playing EQ. Its been a while since I ..
Hi,
Its been quite some time since I last played EQ and tonight I decided to fire up the old game and visit some of the EQemu servers. I have a few questions on the game itself not necessarily the Eqemu side of the game. I hope some of you will be able answering my questions.
1. Once I was logged in I tried to move about like I used to. I used to have my right mouse button as my move forward button and the left button to attack. I think thats what it was. I assume so as that is my personal setup for all the 1st person games I play. Anyhow, It appears that I can't use my mouse to move forward anymore. I was only able to use it for looking around, but not moving forward. Is this the way it is now in EQ? I hope NOT :( I liked the old configuration I had and hope I can use it again.
2. The client seems to have changed a lot since I last played. I last played maybe June of 2002. I have the Velious, Kunark and Luclin add-ons, yet the graphics look so different. I see a lot of changes to the interface, but also the graphics of the houses and walls in Qeynos looked updated and a lot better than the last time I played. I did update my client before entering the EQemu servers and there was a big update for me to get. Has there been a lot of graphical changes since last spring or has it just been so long that I don't remember the graphics looking like this?
3 (Final Question) Ok, this one has to do with EQemu I guess. I'm curious if I decide to run a server one day, will it be possible to use only the original EQ data from the original CD and not Kunark, Velious and Luclin? I really liked the original release of EQ and it has changed quite a lot since it first started years ago. (Remember the Splitpaw Gnolls in Splitpaw? They aren't there anymore) I was curious if it is possible to run a server using only the zones and data/graphics found on the original CD, and having the game world look and feel like it did upon launch years ago. I maybe would eventually include the Velious and Kunark CDs as well, but I'd prefer to start with the original client version. Is this possible?
Well, if anyone here can clue me in I'd appreciate it.
Sincerely,
